Humming to MIDI: Record, Preview, and Correct the Melody
Prepare a phone recording, choose the melody route and compare the MIDI preview before deciding to convert the full result.

Record one clear melody
Start with a short, steady hum in a quiet room. Avoid singing over a backing track for the first test. Phone recordings may use M4A; select the real audio file rather than a renamed document. Silence, breath noise, slides and overlapping voices can create missing or extra notes.
Choose the route that matches the recording
For a single hummed line, choose one melody or instrument. For a song containing several instruments, choose the full-song route. The preview is a limited excerpt, not a guarantee of full-song accuracy. Listen to the original and MIDI, checking where notes begin and end as well as their pitch.
Decide what to do after the preview
If the excerpt is not useful, improve the recording before paying for a longer conversion. If you continue, keep the original file available: the page may ask you to select it again after sign-in or returning from checkout. A saved preview is not the full conversion, and buying credits does not by itself mean a MIDI result has been generated.
Correct the result before building an arrangement
Open the resulting MIDI in an editor. Remove stray notes, correct pitches and adjust lengths. Use quantization only where the rhythm should align to the grid. Export the edited MIDI and reopen it before adding instruments in a DAW. This is a preparation and checking workflow, not a measured accuracy claim for every voice or recording.
