Numbers from our internal test on a piano performance, compared against the WAV ground truth.
| MP3 bit rate | High-freq loss | Chord accuracy | Monophonic accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 320 kbps CBR | Minimal | 92% | 97% |
| 256 kbps CBR | Low | 89% | 96% |
| 192 kbps CBR | Moderate | 82% | 93% |
| 128 kbps CBR | Noticeable | 71% | 86% |
| 96 kbps CBR / VBR | Severe | 58% | 76% |
| 64 kbps | Extreme | <50% | <70% |
If your only source is below 96 kbps MP3 (early phone recordings, phone-call captures, old radio rips), error rates climb so high that re-performing the part is faster. Better to upload a higher-quality source, or hand-fix the MIDI in your DAW.

Best for solo instruments, clean vocals, and monophonic lines. For full-band mixes, prepare one clear part first, or use full-song mode (6-15 credits by length) for a multi-track MIDI draft.
Yes. Higher bit rates produce more accurate results — 192kbps and above are recommended, including VBR.
Free users can upload up to 12MB (roughly 5–10 minutes). Paid plans raise the limit and add batch processing.
We only keep files while we run the conversion, then clean them up. We never use your audio to train models.
