Quality, copyright, and limits
- Source quality matters. A lossless WAV or FLAC source generally preserves more detail than a heavily compressed copy, but results still depend on the arrangement and recording.
- Dense commercial mixes lose detail. Prepare one clear part before upload when you need a more usable MIDI draft.
- Copyright: only convert content you own, that's in the public domain, that's CC-licensed, or for which you have written permission. PureMIDI does not download from YouTube or verify third-party licenses for you.

How long can the YouTube clip be?+
The YouTube link is preview-only; the actual limit comes from the authorized audio file you upload. Audio uploads are capped at 25MB. Choose clear melody or complete song before uploading; both routes first return a free 30-second result.
Will it work for piano, guitar, vocals, or drums?+
Clear piano, vocal, guitar, and bass parts are better inputs. Drums are not a dedicated target for the clear-melody route and usually need a specialized workflow or manual cleanup.
